  • Sensations L'Istante has an intense garnet red colour and fruity aromas of dried black berries, plums, figs and dates, with notes of green tea and bark. These aromatic sensations accompany the wine throughout its long life and underline its depth. On the palate, the wine does not show itself by its character, but rather exalts itself by its layered and elegant structure, its finesse and its complex and compact tannins that close in a long epilogue.
  • Vinification After careful sorting in the vineyard, the grapes are carefully processed and fermented in open vats. In order to favour an optimal extraction of colour and tannins, the grape marc cap is pumped over and punched down up to four times a day for the duration of fermentation. Afterwards, the wine is racked into barriques where malolactic fermentation takes place and where it remains for a period of approximately 18 months. Finally, the wine matures for approximately one year in the bottle.

    "Istante" Vigneti Dolomiti IGT 2020
  • In this label, Franz Haas channels the best Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot grapes, to which he adds small percentages of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. It is, therefore, an elegant Bordeaux blend, i.e. a red wine inspired by the style of those in Bordeaux, France. All the grapes come from vineyards cultivated using the Guyot method, located at altitudes varying between 250 and 500 metres above sea level, on sandy soils in very warm micro-zones facing south and south-west. After careful sorting in the countryside, the grapes are carefully processed and fermented in open vats. In order to promote optimal extraction of colour and tannins, the grape marc cap is pumped over and punched down up to four times a day for the duration of fermentation. Afterwards, the wine is racked into barriques where malolactic fermentation takes place and where it then matures for a period of approximately 18 months. Then, after bottling, follows a further bottle-ageing period of about one year. Only then is the wine ready to be put on the market. Istante presents itself in the glass with a beautiful, intense garnet red colour and fruity aromas of dried black berries, plums, figs and dates, with notes of green tea and bark. In the mouth, the wine does not show off its character, but rather is exalted by its layered and elegant structure, as well as its finesse and complex, compact tannins that close in a long epilogue. It is a perfect accompaniment to savoury dishes, e.g. game, robust roasts and tagliata.

    There is a name that every good wine lover in Italy identifies with the Pinot Noir grape variety. It is that of Franz Haas, a winemaker in South Tyrol. Franz Haas, however, is not just a winery and not just a brand. Franz Haas, in fact, is first and foremost a man and his family who have been producing wine for seven generations and who put their whole philosophy of life into their bottles: a continuous and tireless search for perfection. The Franz Haas winery was founded in 1880 and has been handed down for seven generations to the eldest son of the family, who has the honour and responsibility of always bearing the same name, Franz (the current head of the winery is Franz VII, while Franz VIII will be his natural heir). In the vineyard, the vines are managed with absolute respect for the environment, using only organic substances to favour the natural process of cultivation and fertilisation. In 1999, with the first signs of the recent climate change, in order not to compromise on quality, several hectares were leased at altitude and in 2000 clones more suited to the new conditions were planted. Today, the company's vineyards reach over 1100 metres above sea level and are currently among the highest in South Tyrol. Cultivating at these altitudes is more difficult and strenuous, but the wines that emerge from these lands are distinguished by very special characteristics that make them unique.
