"San Greg" Campania Rosato IGT 2023
  • A wine produced in the highest hills of Irpinia, up to an altitude of 700 metres. The vineyards are of different ages, located on marly calcareous and marly arenaceous soils in hills exposed to the sun and extremely well ventilated. The scrupulously hand-picked grapes are brought to the cellar and placed directly in the press where, with light pressure, the noblest part of the juice is obtained. Thanks to the careful selection of the right vineyards, San Greg has an elegant style, great drinkability, consistent over the years. A perfect wine from aperitif to dinner, also dedicated to those who only want to enjoy the magic of the moment. Intense pink and crystal clear. On the nose, a bouquet of fresh flowers, wild strawberries and raspberry. In the mouth it is fresh, recalling freshly picked red fruit, with hints of cherry.

There is a subtle fil-rouge that unites everything that has been done at Feudi di San Gregorio since its birth in 1986. It is the desire to make the most of the inestimable heritage of indigenous grape varieties of the Campania tradition. Starting with Greco, Fiano and Aglianico, true regional flagships. Today, the company can count on a total of 300 hectares of vineyards, divided into over 800 plots that differ in altitude, exposure and slope. A marvellous natural jigsaw puzzle that perfectly expresses the biodiversity of the land, and is capable of producing extraordinary cru. It is currently one of the leading wineries in Southern Italy, with exports covering more than 50 countries worldwide. The experience gained over the years therefore led the Capaldo family, who have always been the mind and soul of the company, to decide to explore the wine potential of other regions of Italy. This is how the ‘Tenute Capaldo’ project was born, encompassing a complex of wineries ranging from DUBL, also from Campania, to Campo alle Comete in Tuscany, passing through Basilisco, an organic winery in Vulture, Ognissole, a biodynamic winery in Apulia, Sirch, in the Colli Orientali del Friuli, and ending with FedeGraziani, a small jewel on the slopes of Etna. All realities united by the same values: to produce wines of excellent quality while respecting the territory they belong to.
