      Champagne Veuve Clicquot Demi-Sec
    • A unique Champagne. A tribute to the ancient tradition of the Maison, which here offers an interesting Demi-Sec version, sweet and silky. A truly unique Champagne that, the experts of the house even recommend serving in a decanter to allow the full development of aromas. This cuvée is the result of blending as many as 50 different crus. With 40 to 45 percent Pinot Noir, 30 to 35 percent Meunier and 20 to 25 percent Chardonnay. In this case, reserve wines account for between 20 and 30 percent of the total. Their special feature is that they are stored, individually, in barrels. At the end of aging on the lees in the bottle, an important dosage is added, amounting to about 45 grams of sugar per liter. The result is a sparkling wine characterized by incredible aromatic harmony, sweet but very fresh. Its ideal pairing is with caramel desserts, but also with coffee or pralines: Paris-Brest, tarte Tatin, caramelized pears. Also fabulous with a rich fruit salad.

If Champagne today is what it is, even from a stylistic point of view, much is due to the famous "widow," Veuve Clcquot. One of the most famous and respected women of Champagne who contributed with her work, determination and intuition, to make the famous French sparkling wine a true symbol of elegance and refinement. She created the first Vintage Champagne in 1810, invented the table de remuage, ancestor of the modern pupitre, and made the first Rosé Champagne in 1816. But the fate of widow Clicquot is especially linked to those of the Russian empire, at the very beginning with the first customer of the winery. Today, Veuve Clicquot, part of the prestigious luxury goods group LVMH, has more than 390 vineyards throughout the region, more than 80% of which are Grand Cru and Premier Cru plots.
