Cantina Soc. Di Dolianova Loc. S. Esu S.S. 387 km. 17,150 09041 Dolianova (SU)
Cantina sociale di Dolianova offers this red wine of great character. It is called Anzenas and is a typical Cannonau di Sardegna DOC. In its blend, as per specifications, 90% Cannonau grapes are added to 10% other native red grapes. These are all vines cultivated by the cooperative's members near the winery. A place as beautiful as it is difficult, characterised by medium-textured soils and a sub-arid climate. After harvesting, the grapes are first destemmed and crushed, and then undergo fermentation for 8-10 days. After racking, the wine is decanted into vitrified cement tanks where malolactic fermentation takes place and is then aged for a few months. It is released for consumption no earlier than 10 April following the harvest. Thanks to its great body, this wine enjoys good longevity. It should ideally be uncorked within 4 to 5 years after the harvest. Intense ruby red colour with garnet hues, the nose reveals intense and persistent aromas. It is vaguely ethereal, vinous, with distinct hints of berries. In the mouth, however, it is warm and enveloping. A wine with a strong personality, it is also rightly tannic. Excellent with the juiciest meat. Perfect when the embers sizzle under the grill.
Founded in 1949 by thirty-five winegrowers, Cantine di Dolianova has grown and prospered over time, reaching goals that were certainly not even remotely imaginable at the time. Today there are more than three hundred members and, very importantly, many of them are now the children or grandchildren of the founding members. In a sort of generational passage, much appreciated in the wine world. Today, the Cellars can therefore count on a heritage of around 1200 hectares of their own vineyards, mostly concentrated in Parteolla, in the south of Sardinia, one of the sunniest parts of the island. Thanks to this heritage, the company's sales force is able to sell more than four million bottles a year. Numbers that, in a viticultural panorama such as that of Sardinia, make Dolianova one of the largest and most virtuous realities in the sector. The winery's production is focused (as it should be) on the island's many indigenous grape varieties. From Cannonau to Monica, Nuragus, Vermentino, Nasco, Barbera Sarda and Moscato.
