    "Zui" Passerina Lazio IGP 2023
  • Zuì is a pure Passerina. 100% Lazio, and proposed by Federici. It is produced from grapes harvested from vineyards located between Rome and Frosinone. The green slopes of the rolling hills of Lazio offer rich tufa and volcanic soils, and enjoy a mild climate, that is sunny but made more pleasant by the presence of constant winds. The processing in the cellar is simple but accurate. Temperature-controlled white vinification and rapid refinement in steel. All done with a view to respecting the most delicate aromas of the initial fruit. Mission accomplished. In the glass, in fact, you discover a wine characterized by a beautiful straw yellow colour, with intense and pleasant scents. White and orris flowers are easily recognized, with fresh white-fleshed fruit and a sweet honey finish. In the mouth it is fresh, sapid, well balanced and has a nice body. A simple but not trivial wine, it is the right choice for an aperitif, but it is also a worthy accompaniment to a lunch or dinner based on raw fish and shellfish.

"We put our family name on the bottles, and we want everything to be done our way." This could be the slogan of the Federici winery in Zagarolo, in the province of Rome. Founded in 1960 by the grandfather of the current owners, Antonio Federici. It was a company sprung from Italy's boom years, of the 'dolce vita' and of that subtle carefree attitude that we probably dream of today. 2001 marks the turning point. It was the moment when it was decided that, in order to produce with the right quality, it was also necessary to start growing their own grapes and manage their own vineyards directly. This was done by starting from the typical vines of the territory such as Trebbiano, Malvasia del Lazio, Malvasia di Candia and Grechetto, with Montepulciano and Sangiovese, alongside international vines such as Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. Mission accomplished. Federici's wines represent the ideal combination of tradition and that touch of novelty necessary to revive it. Today, the vineyards, part belonging the company and part belonging to historical vintners linked to the Federici Company by long-term agreements, are worked according to the guidelines established by Franco Bernabei, who coordinates the team of agronomists and oenologists, supervising the progress of the work. This is how the wines that collect awards and recognition from Italian and international wine guides are born.
