Made only from grapes harvested by hand at full maturity on the steep vineyards of the region, this Riesling presents itself in the glass with a beautiful, intense straw yellow colour. The nose immediately reveals a rich and ripe bouquet of aromas ranging from exotic fruits, including mango and pineapple, peach and even white flowers. There is also the typical hydrocarbon character that distinguishes Mosel wines more than any other region. On the other hand, the slightly oily texture, typical of the variety, is perfectly perceived in the mouth, which goes hand in hand with its distinct natural acidity. A simple but extremely pleasant Riesling.

      Abtei Himmerod, or Himmerod Abbey, is an enchanting place in the heart of the Moselle. Here, Cistercian monks have worked and prayed (Ora et labora) for almost 900 years. Around the abbey, historic vineyards have been planted, their roots sinking several metres into the poor hilly soils of the region. Here, a fabulous mix of climate, exposure and ancient folk wisdom gives rise to wines with an unmistakable aromatic profile. Low, indeed very low, yields. High, definitely very high, the quality.
