Moscato Giallo Secco Alto Adige DOC 2023
  • For an unconventional aperitif, far from the usual (pleasant) bubbles, this is the right wine. Intriguing fruit of pure yellow Muscat grapes processed in an unusual dry version, Hans Rottensteiner's Goldmuskateller is an incredibly fresh and drinkable wine. Vinified and aged strictly in steel to bring out the best of the most typical notes of the grape, it has an elegant and refined bouquet. In the glass it has a beautiful goldish, straw yellow colour. The nose could almost make it seem like a dessert wine, with intense aromatic notes and hints of peach, orange blossom and herbs. In the mouth, however, dry, fresh and very persistent. An amazing wine, in every sense of the word.

Never mind that the name is of clear German origin. The Hans Rottensteiner winery is 100% South Tyrolean and has been deeply tied to its territory since its foundation in 1530. A family business, the winery has been run by several generations of winemakers. Today, it is Hannes who takes over the role of winemaker, leaving his father Anton in charge of the vineyard. The estate is located near Bolzano, in a very suggestive alpine valley. Rows of grapes, fruit trees and ancient farms. The Rottensteiner family cultivates mainly autochthonous grapes, such as Schiava and Lagrein. Nearly ten hectares of property, not a few for the area, conducted with passion and full respect for nature and the environment, which are joined by another 75 trusted local suppliers. And if the grapes are of the highest quality, in the cellar the most modern wine-making technologies do the rest. The wines of the beautiful South Tyrolean winery are here to be tried.
