Its label plays on shades of green and recalls the freshness of this fine pure Vermentino. IGT Toscana, proposed by the fine San Benedetto di San Gimignano winery. The grapes, harvested by hand only after they have reached perfect ripeness, with the correct ratio of freshness to sweetness, are brought to the cellar to be quickly processed. It starts with a short maceration, then the grapes are destemmed and softly crushed. The must obtained is then fermented at a low temperature and the wine is left to mature on its own yeasts in the same containers. What results is a beautiful white wine from the territory, characterised by a straw-yellow colour of medium intensity. On the nose, what is most striking is the freshness of the bouquet and the delicacy of the aromas reminiscent of ripe fruit and white flowers. In the mouth, it is harmonious and savoury, perfect to accompany an aperitif with friends or to be served, well chilled, in combination with fish dishes.

At that time, the Giannelli family ran a small farm with vineyards, olive groves and livestock at San Benedetto. This farm, called 'podere Casaccia', was managed under the old sharecropping system until the 1960s, when brothers Dario and Giuseppe, with their respective sons, decided to buy the first piece of land. In 1975, therefore, the first part of the winery was built on this very land, with the name Azienda Agricola Giannelli. The rest is the story of an 'ordinary entrepreneurial success' that led to the acquisition of new vineyards and the construction of a larger winery with modern equipment. This led to 1998, when the company took its current name of Azienda Agricola San Benedetto. New name, same goal as always: to produce quality, territorial wines.
