The Campo alle Comete 2019 Vermentino opens to a bright and sunny bouquet with honey, Golden Delicious apple, orchard fruit, ripe pear and a touch of sea salt. You could say that this wine shares DNA with the delicious white wines of Campania, as the owner of this estate also owns Feudi di San Gregorio in Avellino (southern Italy). This is an estate with enormous experience when it comes to making white wines. There are similarities here, especially in the mild creaminess of the mouthfeel and the way in which the wine spreads smoothly over the palate. This is a terrific Vermentino measured both in terms of fragrance and freshness.

    Vermentino Toscana IGT 2023
  • Awarded by the strictest international critics, this Vermentino is a fine discovery. A decidedly territorial wine, it is produced from grapes harvested in vineyards located near the sea. After harvesting and delivery to the winery, the grapes are quickly sent for careful white vinification, exclusively in stainless steel at a controlled temperature of 15 degrees C. In order to give this white wine greater complexity and depth, the winery's enologists leave it for a few days on its fine lees. While, in order to preserve the freshness of the wine, even its maturation takes place in stainless steel tanks. In the glass it has a light yellow colour, almost paper white, with light greenish reflections. Fresh and fragrant wine, the nose reveals intense aromatic notes reminiscent of citrus and floral scents, typical for the variety. In the mouth, however, it is decidedly fruity, with a mineral component that makes it savoury, balanced and persistent.

There is a subtle fil-rouge that unites everything that has been done at Feudi di San Gregorio since its inception in 1986. It is the desire to make the most of the priceless heritage of indigenous grape varieties of Campania tradition. Starting with Greco, Fiano and Aglianico, the true regional flag bearers. Today the company can count on a total of 300 hectares of vineyards, divided into over 800 plots that differ in altitude, exposure and slopes. A marvellous natural puzzle that perfectly expresses the biodiversity of the territory and is able to give life to extraordinary cru. It is currently one of the leading wineries in Southern Italy, with exports covering more than 50 countries worldwide. The experience gained over the years has therefore led the Capaldo family, who have always been the mind and soul of the company, to decide to explore the winemaking potential of other regions of Italy. This is how the "Tenute Capaldo" project was born, which includes a complex of wineries ranging from DUBL, also from Campania, to Campo alle Comete in Tuscany, passing through Basilisco, an organic winery in Vulture, Ognissole, a biodynamic winery in Puglia, Sirch, in the Colli Orientali del Friuli, and finally FedeGraziani, a small jewel on the slopes of Etna. They all share the same values: to produce wines of excellent quality while respecting their territory.
