Toscana IGT Bianco, Arioso is a classic white wine from the Tuscan coast. Produced from pure Vermentino grapes, it is one of the labels offered by Campo alla Sughera in Bolgheri. Vermentino, traditionally a lover of warm and windy Mediterranean climates, in Tuscany, and in particular in the Livorno area, reaches full maturity with very intense aromas and expresses enveloping and harmonious wines. Alcoholic fermentation in steel tanks at controlled temperature, the wine is refined in the bottle for a few months before being put on the market. Straw yellow in colour with slight greenish highlights, this Arioso is appreciated for its rich aromas of yellow fruit, with hints of tropical fruit, star anise and subtle floral nuances. On the palate it is lively and savoury, with rich, harmonious fruit and pleasant saline notes. Excellent as an aperitif, this Bolgheri white wine is ideal with delicate fish or shellfish dishes. We are in Bolgheri, home of the famous Supertuscans. Here, in 1997, the Knauf family, German entrepreneurs who had been in Tuscany for years, went in search of a plot of land on which to build a new winery. After months of studies, they found what they were looking for near the so-called Fossa di Bolgheri, the main waterway in the area, protected by the inland hills that form a natural barrier to cold currents. This is where Campo alla Sughera was born, 20 hectares in the heart of the Bolgheri appellation, more than 16 of which are planted with vines. Between the sea and the hills, sand and marl that enhance the natural complexity and richness of the wines produced here today. Since 2017, this delicate task has been entrusted to the famous oenologist Stéphane Derenoncourt, an internationally renowned winemaker who, in addition to Bolgheri, works as a consultant for numerous estates in Bordeaux and with other winemakers around the world.
