This is undoubtedly one of the most representative wines of the Muzic winery. Pure Istrian Malvasia grapes from vineyards registered as DOC in the municipality of San Floriano del Collio, in the locality of Uclanzi. A small plot of about half a hectare, on soil rich in rocks and minerals. A very old vineyard, with vines ranging in age from 60 to 80 years. Vinified in steel at a controlled temperature, this white wine is then aged on its noble lees, again in steel, with frequent batonnage, for at least three months. The result is a white wine characterised by a beautiful pale straw yellow colour with green reflections. On the nose there is a clear aroma of apricot, exotic fruit and white pepper. In the mouth, on the other hand, it is pleasantly dry, fresh, lively and full-bodied. Excellent as an aperitif, it goes well with soups and risottos. But it is also perfect with fish dishes, even fatty ones.
At a crossroads between the road that climbs from Gorizia to the summit of San Floriano del Collio and the one that descends towards Preval, stands the Muzic estate, owned by Ivan and Orieta and their children Elija and Fabijan. A family-run business founded in 1963, today it can count on about 24 hectares of vineyards, 90% of which are cultivated with white grape varieties. An annual production of around 110 thousand bottles, produced mainly from the main indigenous grape varieties such as Ribolla Gialla, Tocai friulano, Malvasia Istriana and Picolit, but also with the great international varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay. The Muzic winery is ideally divided into two parts. The historic one, restored in the early 2000s, dates back to the 16th century and is one of the oldest in San Floriano. Miraculously escaped the devastation of the world wars, it has exposed stone walls and vaulted ceilings. Here are the wooden barrels in which the red wines rest and mature. Harmoniously connected to this is the modern, technologically advanced cellar, equipped with thermo-controlled stainless steel tanks.
