    • You cannot think of Friuli, from a viticultural point of view, and not immediately fly with your mind to the good Sauvignon Blancs of Collio. These are decidedly territorial wines that, in the minds of many enthusiasts, conjure up fresh notes and daring pairings. The mantra of the Ascevi Luwa winery is always the same. Good wine is made above all in the countryside. If the harvested fruit is healthy and perfectly ripe, more than half the work is done. And in the cellar, all that remains is to indulge nature, safeguarding what is good in it. Especially in this case, where everything depends on the fineness of the aromas. And this is why the harvest in the 'Ronco dei Sassi' vineyard is carried out strictly by hand, so as not to damage the delicate film that covers the swollen berries of the best Sauvignon. Then vinification in steel, with strict temperature control. Thus was born this Collio Sauvignon, characterised by a brilliant straw-yellow colour with light green-gold tones. The nose has a typical bouquet, with hints of green pepper and tomato leaf, as well as peach and sage. In the mouth, however, it is elegant, mineral and full-bodied. To put it at ease, it can accompany a wide variety of dishes on the table. From vegetable soups to shellfish and tasty fish.

      San Floriano del Collio is one of those hidden corners of Friuli that bring serenity to those fortunate enough to know it. A magnificent natural landscape, where vineyards alternate with cherry trees and acacia woods. A borderland, Slovenia is only a few kilometres away as the crow flies. It was in this place that a young couple started their business in 1972. Mariano and Loredana planted their first vineyard, destined over the course of years to become the cornerstone of what is now a beautiful family business with around 30 hectares of vineyards in the Collio and Friuli Isonzo DOC areas. Today the two parents are joined by their children Walter and Luana. Most of the wines produced, as tradition dictates, are the offspring of white grape varieties, grown in vineyards at an altitude of between 150 and 250 metres above sea level. The Friuli Isonzo vineyards, on the other hand, are located in the flat area to the left of the river. While modern oenological practices are de rigueur in the cellar, the quality of Ascevi Luwa wines originates in the countryside. Because that is where wine is born. And good country makes good wine.
