After all, this Mare Chiaro, Cirò DOC proposed here by Ippolito 1845, is the perfect wine to make us feel already on holiday, regardless of the date marked on the calendar. Mare Chiaro, made from pure Greco Bianco grapes, is the wine to always keep chilled, in the hope that the right occasion will soon come to uncork it and enjoy it. It comes from a blend of grapes harvested in two different phases. This particular technique is used to bring out the best of all the characteristics of the grape variety. The freshness and aromas, in particular, with the first harvest. The structure and body, with the second. For ageing, four months in steel are sufficient. In the glass it has a beautiful, brilliant straw yellow colour. The nose is intense and persistent, with hints of sweet tropical fruit, pear, peach and white flowers. In the mouth, however, it immediately reveals itself to be very fresh, with a pleasant final marine note. Good as an aperitif instead of the classic bubbly, this Calabrian white can accompany fish-based first and second courses with satisfaction. Excellent with a fine grilled or fried fish.
