      "Meno" Marche Rosso IGT 2023
    • Meno, an organic Marche Rosso IGT proposed here by Filodivino, is the result of a radical approach: subtract to enhance. In fact, it stems from the desire to make the most of the intrinsic quality of the grapes and the terroir, eliminating all superfluous intervention. The result? A pure, direct and profoundly authentic wine, capable of capturing the essence of the place and the production philosophy. The production area is that of San Marcello, in the heart of the Marche region, a small wine-growing pearl. Here, thanks to the temperate climate and the influence of the Adriatic Sea, the vineyards enjoy ideal conditions for balanced ripening. Meno is made from international grape varieties grown according to certified organic methods, without the use of chemicals and with full respect for the environment. The grapes, hand-picked from ten-year-old vineyards, are vinified with spontaneous fermentation in large 2000-litre oak vats, exploiting the naturally present yeasts. Ageing takes place in steel for three months, with minimal use of sulphites (less than 40 mg/l), thus guaranteeing a clean and genuine wine. In the glass you discover a juicy and lively wine, characterised by a beautiful intense red colour with violet hues. The nose is intriguing, with notes of ripe cherries, sour cherries and a delicate hint of spice. A very drinkable red, it has soft tannins that make it perfect on more than one occasion. Versatile and surprising, Meno pairs well with a variety of dishes. From cured meats and fresh cheeses to the traditional fish soup of the Marche region.

      Born from a textile entrepreneur's passion for the land and desire to live in harmony with nature, Filodivino is now a wine tourism gem in the Marche region. The winery is located in the heart of San Marcello, where an old ruined farmhouse has been regenerated, surrounded by 17 hectares of vineyards. Here, gentle slopes and clay soils provide an ideal terroir for growing vines. At Filodivino, in particular, Verdicchio and Lacrima di Morro d'Alba, both indigenous varieties, find the perfect environment to best express their characteristics. The vines, some of which are ‘50 years old’, are cultivated using organic methods, respecting the rhythms of nature and preserving biodiversity. Under the ground, in a cellar dug into the rock, the must ferments and the wine matures, protected by constant temperatures and natural humidity. Following him step by step is oenologist Luca D'Attoma who, thanks to his experience and passion, enhances the uniqueness of each vintage.
