Bio Vegan is a line of wines, deeply territorial, the result of intense research work, in the vineyard and in the cellar. They are wines produced using only substances of vegetable origin, with a low sulphite content and double certification: Organic and BIO VEGAN. This, for example, is the product of pure Nero d'Avola grapes, carefully selected in vineyards rooted in soils about 200 metres above sea level. Harvested strictly by hand and carefully placed in boxes, the grapes are quickly brought to the winery to be processed before they can deteriorate. We are in September and in Sicily the heat can still be very intense. After careful, temperature-controlled vinification, the wine is aged exclusively in stainless steel and, before being released to market, is left to rest in the bottle for another 2-3 months. The result is a red wine characterized by a beautiful intense colour with violet reflections. The nose reveals a rich bouquet, with clearly recognizable notes of cherry, raspberry and plum. In the mouth, however, it is soft, structured and persistent.

Today Cantine Nicosia is a dynamic, modern and efficient company, able to look to the future in full respect of tradition, thanks to a young but well-trained staff. Native grape varieties and international varieties well adapted to the climate of Sicily, coexist to give life to wines of great personality, produced in full respect of the environment. The headquarters of the winery have remained in Trecastagni, while most of the company's vineyards are located not far away, at the foot of Monte Gorna, one of Etna's many extinct craters. The company also owns vast tracts of land in Vittoria, in the Ragusano area, where Cerasuolo DOCG is produced, and directly manages large expanses of vineyards in the rest of Sicily.
