    "Siebeneich" Merlot Alto Adige DOC Riserva 2020
  • Cantina Bolzano offers Siebeneich, Merlot Riserva, Alto Adige DOC. The light, sunny slopes in Settequerce, in the province of Bolzano, provide ideal conditions for Merlot. Here, the fertile and warm alluvial soils produce a fruity and robust wine with good ageing potential. But let us proceed in order. The grape harvest takes place in mid-October. The best bunches are brought to the cellar for processing. Vinification is thorough, with fermentation in wooden barrels and ageing for about a year in French barriques and large casks. The result is a wine characterised by a beautiful intense ruby red colour with garnet hues. On the nose, ripe berries, herbs, humus and spices. In the mouth, however, the wine is pleasantly structured and complex, with soft tannins. A good wine already today, it is designed to evolve well in the cellar for several years. On the table we will discover a wine that is perfect with red meat dishes, especially grilled, game and mature cheeses.

    Cantina Bolzano was founded in 1908, when 30 local winegrowers decided to unite under a common flag. Today, the members cultivate 340 hectares of vineyards between 200 and 1,000 metres above sea level: passion, experience and commitment enable Cantina Bolxano to produce highly successful wines. New and old knowledge is well represented by the headquarters of Cantina Bolxano: a majestic cube clad in bronze-coloured aluminium sheets, with engravings and openings resembling a stylised vine leaf. A beautiful way to tell its story, also from an aesthetic point of view: past and future have common roots, and from these roots come wines of acknowledged quality and disturbing charm.
