In fact, this Cava Raimat Brut Nature, made mostly from Chardonnay and around 30% Xarello grapes, is just that. A fine goblet to easily offer with the whole meal. Made using the Metodo Classico method and aged on the lees for 18 months, this sparkling wine is a beautiful straw yellow colour in the glass, with an evident effervescence made up of fine bubbles that rise quickly towards the surface of the wine. The nose reveals aromas of peach, ripe fruit and citrus fruits. In the mouth, thanks also to the high percentage of Chardonnay present in the base cuvée, you discover a wine with a nice creaminess. Fresh fruit and citrus notes return, well integrated with each other and well supported by a hint of refreshing acidity.
The story of bodega Raimat began in 1914 when Don Manuel Raventós i Domenech, owner of the Codorníu Raventós wine group, bought an estate of over 3,200 hectares, as vast as it is arid. It is located in Lleida, Catalonia. First, an impressive network of canals was built to bring water from the Pyrenees to the estate. An imposing engineering work that allowed to transform an arid heath into a fertile farm that can currently count on more than 2 thousand hectares of vineyards, divided into a myriad of small plots.
