Venezia Giulia IGT, Bastianich's Vespa Rosso comes from a skilful blend of both indigenous and international grapes, carefully chosen by the winery team in vineyards that have an average age of around 60 years. In this case, the three Bordeaux grape varieties par excellence, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, are blended with Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, the most typical red grape of the area. The result is a fortunate mix that is enriched by an expert maturation in barriques for 18 months. Ruby red with slight garnet hues, the nose is very fruity, despite the fact that this is a red wine from a cold climate. In the mouth it confirms its nature, revealing pleasant notes of small red fruits, also jammy. Able to amaze for its balance and finesse, with the passing of the seconds it reveals itself as a pleasantly soft wine, with a slightly more bitter finish. Ideal with roasts and pork dishes. Try it, above all, with the classic baked shank with potatoes.
