Its wines are characterized by a clearly recognizable stylistic signature and a distinctly surprising cleanliness. Bobal, for those who don't know, is the second most planted red grape variety in Spain (according to official numbers), although it is quite rare outside national borders. Especially appreciated for its ability to give rise to soft, fruity wines, it is an ideal companion for Tempranillo, which, on the other hand, has little sugar and significant tannins. A cherry red of good intensity, the nose has distinct hints of ripe fruit that introduce a well-balanced and expressive sip.

    Grupo Coviñas is the main winery in the Utiel-Requena Appellation of Origin, with more than 41 percent of the total land planted with vines. Technically it is a secondary cooperative, that is, a cooperative that includes other cooperatives. Founded in Requena in the 1960s at the initiative of winemakers from the region's 10 cooperatives who joined forces to leverage their sales force and optimize the market availability of their high-quality wines. Coviñas now represents more than 3,000 farmers belonging to ten different cooperatives: Los Isidros, Requena, La Portera, Roma, Las Monjas, San Antonio, Campo Arcís, Villargordo, Barrio Arroyo, and Los Duques. The wine maturation cellar, officially opened in 2003, has enough space to accommodate about 10,000 barrels. Added to this is a bottle storage area with a capacity of one million pieces. All with automated humidity and temperature control.
