CHARACTERISTICS
  • TypeVino rosso fermo
  • Location Tuscany
  • Grapes 80% Sangiovese, 5% Cabernet Franc, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon
  • Sensations Intense ruby red color with purple hues. The nose is complex: notes of ripe plum, blackberry and candied orange peel alternate with pleasant sensations of dark chocolate, caramel and licorice; sweet tobacco nuances complete the bouquet. The palate is rich, graceful, intense, and marked by sweet, vibrant tannins that precede a long, lingering finish.
  • Vinification Delicate defoliation and thinning in the vineyard, followed by an accurate manual selection of the grapes, have guaranteed the vinification of grapes of good quality and varietal identity. During the fermentation process in truncated cone tanks, the musts were macerated with extreme care towards the freshness of the aromas, the extraction of colour and the management of the tannins aimed at sweetness and elegance. Once the skins were separated from the wine, malolactic fermentation began in barriques, enhancing the finesse and pleasantness of the aromas. Thus began the aging process that lasted about 12-14 months, in French and Hungarian oak barrels, partly new and partly used for the first time. The different lots, vinified separately according to variety, were elevated in wood and then assembled a few months before bottling.
  • Alcoholic strength 14% vol.
  • Allergens Contains sulphites

Wonderful aromas of pine needles, rosemary, fresh mushrooms, bark and dark fruit. Full body. Very tight and tannic backbone. Racy and driven. Undertones of orange peel and wet earth. Even licorice and mint. Great finish. Better after 2021, but exciting to taste now.

A big, lush style, this red delivers pure aromas and flavors of black currant, cherry, violet, flint, tobacco and baking spices. This is supple, yet backed by a firm, dense matrix of tannins, so all the components are there, but this needs time to integrate. Lovely sweet, ripe finish. Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2022 through 2040.
