A small regional pearl, Albana is a white grape variety mainly grown in Emilia-Romagna. For many it is the oldest grape variety in the region, usually used to produce both dry wines, as in this case, and sweet and passito wines. Azienda Agricola Ferrucci harvests its Albana in the company's vineyards in Serra di Castel Bolognese. We are located in a corner that is particularly suited to viticulture, at an altitude of around 200 metres, with a beautiful south-westerly exposure. 100% Albana, in this case the harvest starts between the second and third week of September. Grapes are harvested when perfectly ripe, carefully selected already on the vine and delicately placed in 3 kg crates. In the cellar, the whole bunches are softly pressed, followed by the temperature-controlled fermentation phase, a process that is activated by the addition of selected yeasts. At the end of processing, the wine then rests in vitrified cement vats until bottling, continuing for a few months of rest in the cellar before final release. A wine with structure, good acidity and evident saltiness, in the glass it has a beautiful golden yellow colour, with aromas reminiscent of acacia flowers, peach and apricot. A hint of green tea also appears on the finish. Perfect with fish dishes, both saltwater and freshwater, asparagus risotto and white meats. Cold meats and cheeses.
