It is called 'Collezione Cinquanta' and is a red wine of great character that comes from the heart of Salento. A land kissed by the sun and characterised by a warm, dry Mediterranean climate. Here, the vineyards are located in hilly areas with limestone and clay soils and benefit from these peculiar conditions, resulting in grapes of excellent quality. Collezione Cinquanta is the result of a skilful blend of indigenous red grapes typical of Salento, such as Negroamaro, Malvasia Nera, Primitivo and Montepulciano. The grapes are harvested manually when they reach the right degree of ripeness. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel to preserve the freshness and varietal aromas, and is followed by ageing in barriques for about 12 months. Ruby red colour with purple highlights catches the eye, the nose reveals a complex and enveloping bouquet of ripe red fruits, sweet spices, vanilla and liquorice. In the mouth, the wine has great structure and softness, with elegant, well-integrated tannins. A lively acidity gives freshness and a long, lingering finish with a spicy, toasty aftertaste. Perfect with savoury and structured earthy dishes, such as first courses with tasty sauces, barbecued or baked red meat and game.
