  • Malanders is made from a blend of 95% Vernatsch (Schiava) grapes, with a touch of Lagrein to back it up. Vineyards conducted with the traditional system of pergola, perfect for creating quality and to break the back of the poor winemakers, forced to perform all major operations manually. But then again... The two young winemakers at Pitzner Winery don't seem to mind the fatigue. Their goal is to produce great wines from the territory. And this is certainly no exception. Carefully vinified and aged in second and third hand French oak barriques, this red wine is a beautiful light ruby colour in the glass, with violet reflections. On the nose, black cherry and red currant. The wood, in this case, leaves a slightly smoky note that quickly evolves into evident memories of mocha and chocolate. In the mouth the tannin is reminiscent of 70% dark chocolate. A very pleasant sensation that lingers for several seconds after drinking.
