'A jewel of elegance', characterised by a delicate and inviting colour. Costa Toscana Rosato IGT is an organic wine born from the passion and experience of the Piccini family, one of Italy's most important winemakers. The wine comes from the Moraia Estate, located in the Tuscan Maremma, where the mild climate and sea breeze create ideal conditions for growing vines. A fresh and fruity wine, this rosé comes from a careful selection of Sangiovese and Syrah grapes, harvested by hand and subjected to a short maceration on the skins to give the wine its characteristic colour. Fermentation in stainless steel at a controlled temperature is followed by ageing on the lees with periodic bâtonnage. In the glass it has a beautiful, delicate and luminous pink colour, with a rich and complex bouquet, notes of ripe red fruit, white peach and orange peel. In the mouth it is soft and elegant, with good acidity and a mineral savouriness reminiscent of its terroir of origin. The finish is long and harmonious. Versatile and pleasant, this rosé is suitable to accompany various preparations. Excellent with fish and vegetable starters, perfect with salmon carpaccio and fresh summer salads. Finally, try it with delicate and tasty first courses, such as spaghetti with clams or gnocchi with pesto.
They rightly call themselves 'The Italian wine family'. After all, what is now an enormous enterprise that revolves around the work of 7 wineries, in Tuscany but not only, and that is able to put millions of bottles of wine on the market every year, originates from a single small plot of land in Poggibonsi. It was purchased in 1882 by Angiolo Piccini who founded his own company with his wife, Maria Teresa Totti. From that small plot, 7 hectares in all, the first Chianti straw flasks were produced. The rest is history, work and commitment. Today, Mario Piccini, the fourth generation of the family, runs the company. With him are his sisters Martina and Elisa and his children Ginevra, Benedetta and Michelangelo, all personally involved in the company's activities. Five of the family's seven estates are cultivated according to organic farming principles.
