Dominated by the ancient tower and the small medieval village, Tenuta CastelGiocondo is located south-west of Montalcino. We are at an altitude of about 300 metres, an ideal place for the production of Sangiovese. But not only. Then, at the end of vinification, the wine is aged for about two years in at least 80% new French oak barriques. Then, after bottling, follows a further 12 months of ageing in the bottle. Powerful and rich, Lamaione has an intense, impenetrable ruby red colour. On the nose, wonderful scents of cherry jam and plum, with intriguing hints of rhubarb, graphite, dark chocolate, liquorice and roasted coffee. In the mouth, it is warm, soft and round, with a fine, dense yet silky tannic texture.
