  • Sensations Brilliant soft pink colour. An initial floral aroma is complemented by delicate hints of cherries and currants.
  • Vinification The crushed grapes undergo a short cold maceration, followed by soft pressing and decanting of the free-run must. After decanting, it is inoculated with selected yeasts, and fermentation continues at a controlled temperature of 16°. At the end of fermentation, without malolactic fermentation, the wine matures on the fine lees for about 2 months at a constant temperature.

    "Alfierirosato" Calabria IGT 2022
  • Alfierirosato comes from the careful processing of Nocera and Calabrese grapes. The Nocera variety, in particular, is very old, among the first to appear in Italy around the 7th century BC. The history of this grape variety is associated with that of the Nerelli (Mascalese and Cappuccio) with which it has profound similarities and with which it shares the most interesting geographical area. Both Nocera and Calabrese, in fact, are vines found in both Sicily and the Reggio Calabria area. In its original production area, therefore, one may come across centuries-old vineyards with vines dating back hundreds of years. Alfierirosato, Indicazione Geografica Tipica, is the latest arrival in the Zagarella cellars. The ultimate expression of southern warmth, this wine has a beautiful soft but bright pink colour reminiscent of peach blossom plantations. The nose offers a floral and Mediterranean scrub bouquet, while in the mouth it is fresh and intense. Well balanced, it enjoys excellent persistence. It is ideal with aperitifs and fresh cheeses, but also goes well with light first courses.

In the winery, they use the most advanced natural technologies, including the innovative Ganimede® system that allows the grapes to be treated without the aid of mechanical processes, maintaining their integrity and lowering vinification temperatures. These attentions result in wines that are easily recognisable for their marked extraction of varietal aromas and for their greater persistence in the glass.
