Borgo Reale’s Barolo DOCG 2014 is convincing for its expressiveness and full adherence to the characteristics of such a noble red wine. It begins to be admired for its garnet colour, with hints of orange given by aging. The nose delivers a very broad, intense and overwhelming bouquet, with distinct notes of dried rose. On the palate, Barolo DOCG Borgo Reale is at its best: sumptuous, with elegant tannins and a long, sweet cherry finish. Considering the strong character of this wine, it is impossible to present it alongside light and delicate dishes: it requires combinations of substance, and prefers game, red meats and mature cheeses. Not to be underestimated as a meditation wine: sipping it is a simply sublime experience.
Cantine del Borgo Reale is a distillate from Piedmont. A project that seeks out and proposes the best labels from the territory, from classics such as Nebbiolo and Barbera, to more recent and inspired discoveries, such as Albarossa. The gaze of the Winemakers at Cantine del Borgo Reale looks up at Diano d'Alba, but also over the entire area recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Fertile places, at times soft and at times impervious, capable of restoring panoramas of absolute, unexpected wonder to the gaze of any traveler who happens to travel along one of the roads that trace lines of pleasure among the hills and vineyards. The Barbera d'Asti DOCG from Cantine del Borgo Reale is an interesting one: so authentic and respectful of its past, as lively in moving towards a bright future.
