    Bonarda dell'Oltrepò Pavese DOC 2023
  • If the goal is a snack with friends, the wine must be pleasant and drinkable. And maybe a little unusual. Red, slightly effervescent, perfect to counterbalance the fatness of a nice tray of cold cuts. If the king of this category is Lambrusco from the Emilia region, its worthy companion is the Bonarda dell'Oltrepò Pavese, which in this case Tenuta Il Bosco offers in a particularly pleasant way. Croatina grapes vinified according to tradition and re-fermented to obtain a fragrant liveliness. In the glass it has a beautiful intense ruby red and purple color, with an intense aroma reminiscent of violets, bitter almonds, black cherry and plum. On the palate it is dry, without frills. Very direct, slightly soft and with that pétillant note that causes a pleasantly clean sensation on the palate.

Oltrepò Pavese. A land of great wines that finally, after years in the shade, seem to have managed to carve out a well-deserved place in the sun. And this is undoubtedly due to companies such as Tenuta Il Bosco di Zenevredo, once owned by Benedictine monks and now part of the winemaking world led by the Zonin family. When it was purchased in 1987, there were only 30 hectares of vines. Today, after a long process of requalification and acquisitions, the estate includes 152 hectares of vineyards planted with noble native varieties such as Bonarda and Barbera, as well as the ever-present Pinot Nero, which expresses all its class and personality in Oltrepò.
