      "Juan Carrau" Tannat de Reserva 2021
    • Juan Carrau Tannat de Reserva is a structured and complex red wine, the result of a careful selection of grapes harvested by hand in the vineyards of Las Violetas. After a short maceration at a low temperature, the wine ferments in steel tanks at 22ºC and then matures for 12 months in oak barrels. Ruby red in colour with violet hues, it offers intense aromas of red fruits such as plums and quinces, enriched with spicy notes. On the palate, it is distinguished by elegant nuances of tobacco and chocolate. Perfect with a traditional asado, it should be served at 18ºC.

      The Carrau family began its adventure in the world of wine in Spain. We are in Catalonia, around the middle of the 18th century, when Don Francisco Carrau Vehils, a fisherman from Vilassar de Mar, buys the family's first vineyard, pursuing quality right from the start. And it was not long before the first critical acclaim was forthcoming. Then, in 1930, the family founded the Bodegas Carrau in Uruguay, which still survives today and is strictly family-run. In the vineyards, the most complete respect for nature and environmental balance prevails. Every agronomic choice made is carefully weighed up so that, harvest after harvest, healthy and qualitatively excellent grapes are harvested on time. In the cellar, the most modern oenological technologies are then employed, to obtain wines of consistently excellent quality and great typicality.
