Corasco, Trevenezie IGT by Tedeschi, is a very special red. In this case, in fact, some of the well-known Veneto varieties marry the traditional appassimento, typical of the province of Verona and Valpolicella in particular. In Corasco, in fact, Corvina, which comes from the morainic hills of Valpolicella, Raboso, typical of the Oderzo area, in Treviso, and Refosco, selected in the Aquileia area, coexist (excellently). In the winery, the traditional technique of drying, even if only partial, is used. The grapes, placed in the drying loft for about a month, lose about 8/10% of their initial weight, enriching themselves in sugars, increasing the dry extract, ash and colour of the wine. Deep ruby red, the nose reveals a pleasantly complex red, where the aroma of undergrowth mingles with vanilla and tobacco from the Slavonian oak. In the mouth it reveals good body, lively acidity and alcohol well balanced with tannins. A complex and elegant wine, it does not fear being left in the cellar even for a few years. Even a decade, if stored well. A wine for the whole meal, it goes well with a wide variety of preparations, typical of Veneto cuisine. But that's not all!
The Tedeschi winery is located in the centre of Pedemonte, in the heart of Valpolicella Classica. Always committed to enhancing their vineyards, they were among the first to vinify grapes from individual plots separately. Huge investments have been made over the years in the vinification area, precisely to optimise the fermentation activities of the different vineyards. For the delicate phase of maturation, then, the winery equipped itself with Slavonian oak barrels, with capacities ranging from 1000 to 5000 litres. Finally, between 1995 and 2005, Tedeschi started an important study to control the grapes during the drying phase. This allowed them to build a modern fruit cellar, capable of ensuring the integrity of the grapes during the entire processing cycle, thanks to careful control of the humidity in the environment and regular ventilation. However, so much effort and attention has paid off. Over the years, in fact, the Tedeschi winery has won numerous prizes and awards from the strictest wine critics, in Italy and abroad.
