A Rosé born on the sunny hills of Liguria, where the sea laps the vineyards. It is called Bocca.dirosa and is a rosé, signed Poggio dei Gorleri. Rossese di Albenga, an indigenous grape variety of this area, finds its ideal terroir in western Liguria. The soils here are composed of calcareous marl and clay and give Rossese its typical minerality and flavour. The sea breezes, on the other hand, constantly caress the vineyards, giving the wine freshness and harmony. The Rossese di Albenga, with its thick skin rich in anthocyanins, gives Bouche.derose a soft pink colour, almost onion skin, which anticipates a fragrant and fruity bouquet, with hints of dog rose, wild berries, cherry and citrus fruits. Mineral notes create an elegant and complex olfactory profile. The grapes, harvested by hand at the right degree of ripeness, are vinified with a short maceration on the skins to extract the best colour and aromas typical of Rossese. Fermentation in stainless steel instead preserves the freshness and vivacity of the wine. A versatile wine, it pairs well with a wide variety of dishes. Excellent as an aperitif, it accompanies cured meats, fresh cheeses and grilled vegetables. But it is with fish dishes that Bouche.derose is at its best. This rosé enhances the flavours of the sea with elegance and refinement.
We are in the heart of western Liguria. Here, sea, land and sea breeze are the characteristic elements of the small local wine production. This is where Tenute MFR is located, a fascinating reality born from the meeting of two wineries: SanSteva and Poggio dei Gorleri. The former, located in the municipality of Santo Stefano al Mare, has a special focus on the native grape varieties of the Province of Imperia, with Moscatello di Taggia as its flagship wine. Poggio dei Gorleri, on the other hand, was founded in 2003, when the Merano family decided to take over a beautiful estate. In little more than twenty years, this winery has managed to win the acclaim of critics and enthusiasts alike thanks to its authentic wines, a faithful expression of the Ligurian terroir. Pigato and Vermentino reign supreme in the estate's vineyards, cradled by a privileged position and caressed by the sea breeze.
