Champagne J.CHARPENTIER - 88 rue de Reuil,51700 Villers-sous-Châtillon
Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir, in almost identical percentages. It is from these two basic "ingredients" that Charpentier's Champagne Origine Brut Nature was born. A product very representative of its land of origin, the Vallée de la Marne, where Meunier has always played a leading role. The grapes come from the village of Villers-sous-Chatillon. After harvest, the grapes are processed in a short time to create the base wines with which the Chef de Cave will create the cuvée. The first fermentation takes place in thermoregulated vats. This is followed by what is known as malolactic fermentation, and only then are the vintage wines blended with the reserve wines, which are stored in the cellar inside temperature-controlled tanks and in oak barrels. After bottling, mousse taking and aging for a full 48-54 months. Golden color, blunt and deep, with lively and continuous effervescence. In the mouth it is round and blunt, composed of white fruit, citrus and roasted almonds. Lively, broad and fleshy, it expresses great freshness with slightly lemony notes and a saline touch on the finish. Serve from aperitif onward. But especially to bring to the table when bubble rhymes with pampering.
J. Charpentier represents the more traditional Vallée de la Marne. We are located on the right bank of the river, where Champagnes are still made as they once were, with Pinot Meunier leading the way, with those fruity and fresh tones, in a classic and pleasantly easy style. Today, Jean-Marc Charpentier heads the maison. A certified "Haute valeur environnementale" producer, the company's headquarters are located in Villers-sous-Chatillon. 17 hectares in total, divided between Pinot Meunier, more than half of the total area, and Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, the remainder. Bottles produced, about 170,000.
