Casal Thaulero's Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC Mr. Mont is a young, ready-to-drink red wine made from pure Montepulciano grapes, a typical vine that certainly needs no introduction, renowned for its versatility and expression of the territory. The grapes are harvested manually, in the second and third week of October, when the bunches have reached perfect ripeness. The vinification process, in addition to careful selection of the best grapes, involves destemming the bunches and a maceration phase for about 15 days, after a 5-day cold pre-maceration. This particular technique makes it possible to obtain a must rich in noble components, particularly aromatic ones, which enhance the characteristics of the grapes of origin. At the end of alcoholic fermentation, the wine is separated from the skins by soft pressing and racked into steel tanks for malolactic fermentation. After further racking to ensure the stability and clarity of the wine, it is bottled and aged in the bottle before being released onto the market. In the glass Mr. Mont is a beautiful, intense and brilliant red-purple colour. The nose reveals a pleasant and intense bouquet, with hints of red berries, black cherry and spices that give it complexity and charm. In the mouth, the wine is full, harmonious and pleasantly tannic, thanks to the perfect integration of structure and acidity. An ideal companion for a wide range of dishes, from pasta to stewed meats, but also roasts, grilled meats and game.
