    Gutturnio Superiore Doc 2022
  • This pleasant traditional red wine is made from a blend of Barbera, 60%, and Bonarda for the remainder. A Gutturnio DOC which, thanks to its alcohol content of 12 degrees and its excellent organoleptic qualities, can boast the specification "Superiore" on the label. Production is simple but accurate. Once the grapes are fully ripe, they are brought to the cellar where they are processed in temperature-controlled steel containers. For fermentation, the Cantina Campana technicians use both selected and indigenous yeasts. Intense ruby red in colour with violet hues, the nose is rich and pronounced, with notes of woodland humus and cherry. In the mouth, however, it is fruity and well balanced. A perfect red to accompany lunches and dinners in company, thanks to its pleasantly dry taste and good persistence. It is perfect in combination with salami and tasty starters. But it is also ideal with good traditional first courses such as lasagne or tagliatelle with meat sauce.

Cantine Campana was established in 1972 as a small family-run business. The real leap in quality, however, came in 2010 when, thanks to a project financed by the Emilia-Romagna Region and the European Union, the winery was able to expand its plant to improve the control of production processes and the quality of finished products. Located at the junction between the Val d'Arda and Val Chero, the winery can now count on an annual production of around one million bottles, 80% of which are registered in the main DOC wines of Piacenza tradition. And so wines such as Gutturnio, Barbera, Bonarda, Ortrugo, Malvasia Aromatica di Candia and Monterosso Val d'Arda, in different variants, from sparkling to still.
