    "Zero Sette" Barbera d'Asti DOCG 2022
  • The Barbera d'Asti DOCG "Zerosette", Cantina Damilano's latest wine, originates from the hills of Monferrato, an area with a vocation for the production of high quality wines. The 100% Barbera grapes come from vineyards located at an altitude of around 300 metres above sea level, where the cool, breezy climate and limestone-clay soil give the grapes the ideal characteristics to produce a fresh, fruity and very drinkable wine. Vinification takes place in steel at a controlled temperature for 15 days, preserving the freshness and fruity aromas typical of the Barbera grape variety. This is followed by a brief refinement in steel and cement that makes the wine even softer and more harmonious. "Zerosette' presents itself with an intense red-purple colour. The nose impresses with a fruity and floral bouquet, with notes of currants, violets, cherries and delicate spices. In the mouth it is fresh and lively, with soft tannins and a lingering finish. Perfect with aperitifs, light first courses, cold meats and fresh cheeses. To be drunk young, it can however be kept for a few years to acquire more complexity.

    Damilano is one of Barolo's historic wineries with ancient traditions. Even 'more than a century old'. In fact, the Damilano family's activity dates back to 1890, when Giuseppe Borgogno, great-grandfather of the current owners, began cultivating and vinifying the estate's grapes in the commune of Barolo. However, it was with the next generation, with Giacomo Damilano, the founder's son-in-law, that the winery took on its current name. Since 1997, his grandsons have been at the helm of the fine Langa winery. Guido, Mario and Paolo Damilano carry on their ancestors' work with commitment, making the most of the Langhe's main grape variety, Nebbiolo, and the most suitable vineyards. But the secret of the high quality of Damilano wines is to be found in the vineyards, located in the elective areas for the production of Nebbiolo grapes, such as Cru Cannubi, Liste, Brunate and Cerequio.
