Pretty honeysuckle and ginger notes show in this fresh and creamy, light- to medium-bodied white, along with a stony underpinning and flavors of Asian pear and lemon pound cake. Drink now through 2021.
Cantina Bolzano's Südtirol Alto Adige DOC has an important history: the Pinot Bianco at its heart arrived in South Tyrol in 1850, introduced by the Archduke John of Austria. It has come a long way in an abundant century and a half: the noble lineage can be felt at first glance. It has a lovely straw-yellow colour, with greenish streaks, and a fruity aroma, with hints of Golden Delicious apple accompanied by notes of pear and white peach. Good minerality on the palate, with considerable structure and accentuated elegance. Südtirol Alto Adige DOC from Cantina Bolzano is excellent with asparagus, vegetarian dishes, pasta and poultry. Delicious with all appetizers. A harmonious and delicate, noble wine: to give as a gift on special occasions.
Cantina Bolzano was founded in 1908, when 30 local winegrowers decided to unite their production under a common banner. Today the partners cultivate 340 hectares of vineyards between 200 and 1000 metres above sea level: passion, experience and commitment allow Cantina Bolzano to produce highly successful wines. New and ancient knowledge is well represented by the main headquarters of Cantina Bolzano: a majestic cube covered with bronze-coloured aluminum sheets, with engravings and openings that resemble a stylized vine leaf. A nice way to tell their story, also from an aesthetic point of view: past and future have common roots, and from these roots come wines of recognized quality and disturbing charm.
