Lu Patri is a pure Nero d'Avola, conceived in the spring of 2000. The grapes used for this wine come from six hectares of the Christ of Campobello, a long-time Baglio property. The grapes are harvested by hand between the months of September and October, when they have reached perfect aromatic and phenolic ripeness and are therefore capable of producing a wine of great complexity and depth. The appearance is that of the classic Sicilian red, characterised by a deep, impenetrable ruby colour. One glance is enough to realise that what we have in our glass is a wine of great character and overwhelming personality. On the nose, balsamic and herbal notes. Then hints of fresh fruit, with blackberry and black cherry. In the mouth, however, it is above all soft and round. Of remarkable taste persistence, it is a complex and warm, enveloping and spicy wine. The elegant tannins make it a wine with a very long persistence. Good, in fact very good today, it is a red that does not fear the first wrinkles on the label. Jealously guarded in the cellar, it will evolve for at least another ten years.
