CHARACTERISTICS
  • TypeVino rosso fermo
  • Location Tuscany
  • Grapes Sangiovese and other complementary varieties
  • Sensations Pèppoli 2017 is ruby red in colour. On the nose, notes of red and black fruits such as cherry, strawberry and blackberry, accompany delicate balsamic sensations of aromatic herbs and a slight spicy note. The palate is vibrant, savoury, with soft tannins that support a lingering and pleasantly fresh finish.
  • Vinification The grapes, harvested separately by variety, were destemmed, gently crushed and placed in stainless steel tanks. Alcoholic fermentation took place at a controlled temperature between 26 and 28 degrees C in order to exalt the aromatic expression and preserve the fruity and floral notes of each variety; maceration, managed with mechanical interventions aimed at the extraction of soft and sweet tannins, took about a week for the Sangiovese and 12-15 days for the complementary varieties; at the end of malolactic fermentation, which was completed by the end of the winter for all varieties, the wine was blended and transferred into wood, where it matured for about nine months in large Slavonian oak barrels and, for a small part, in barriques and stainless steel tanks. Bottling took place in December 2018.
  • Alcoholic strength 13,5% vol.
  • Allergens Contains sulphites

The 2017 Chianti Classico Pèppoli withstands the heat of the vintage relatively unscathed, with bright berry fruit, blue flower, potting soil and wild herb. The wine offers good freshness, an easy-drinking style and the wild cherry flavors to pair with a heaping burger and fries.

  • James Suckling

Lovely purity of fruit here, especially when you consider the vintage, ranging from citrus to raspberries to iodine. The juicy and succulent tannins are just the right counterpoint to the rather tangy acidity, and this ends medium-chewy and grainy. Drink now.

    "Pèppoli" Chianti Classico DOCG 2023
  • For many, Peppoli is even synonymous with Chianti Classico. And for anyone who loves Sangiovese, this splendid red is still a reference point when thinking of the world's best-known Tuscan red. Antinori's Peppoli comes from the estate of the same name located about 5 km from the prestigious Tignanello vineyard. The typical Peppoli blend foresees that most of the grapes used are Sangiovese, while the remainder is equally divided between Syrah and Merlot. The result is a powerful, elegant and pleasantly spicy wine. In the glass it is covered with a beautiful ruby cloak edged with violet reflections. The nose is complex and broad, with notes of juicy red fruit, such as cherries and raspberries, and more floral notes typical of Sangiovese. On the finish the toasted notes emerge nicely integrated with all the others. The mouthfeel is warm, with fine and elegant tannins. A long ending that goes on for several seconds.

The Antinori family has been dedicated to wine production for more than six hundred years. From when, in 1385, Giovanni di Piero Antinori became part of the Florentine Guild of Vintners. Since then as many as 26 generations of the family have guided the destiny of the group, which today is one of the best known and best loved worldwide. The head of the company today is Marchese Piero Antinori, with the support of his three daughters, Albiera, Allegra and Alessia, all of whom are personally involved in the company's activities. The family's historic Tuscan and Umbrian estates have been joined over time by several others. Everywhere the aim of the Antinori family is to make the most of the local "terroir", seeking to produce fascinating and memorable wines. In this context, we cannot forget the great family Supertuscans, "Solaia" and "Tignanello", or the Chianti Classico wines that represent a quality reference point for all wine lovers.
