Tre Saggi is an important Montepulciano. A red wine with character from Tenuta Talamonti, deeply rooted in its territory. The Three Wise Men represent Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the three patriarchs featured in a fresco named Giudizio Particolare (Particular Judgement) and considered the highest artistic expression of Abruzzo painting. This interesting fresco is located in the church of Santa Maria in Piano, in Loreto Aprutino, a short distance from the company headquarters. Produced with the best grapes selected and harvested by hand in the company's vineyards at the foot of the Gran Sasso massif, this red wine is the result of a super careful process that involves, after vinification, the wine undergoing malolactic conversion in French oak barrels and then maturing in 300-litre casks for a period of no less than a year. At that point, the wine is bottled and rests for at least another year in the cellar before being put on the market. Deep ruby red in colour, this Montepulciano is characterised by notes of red and dark fruits, with an elegant spicy sensation due to the skilful use of wood in the cellar. In the mouth, it is consistent with what was detected on the nose, with good body and great complexity. The notes of ripe fruit return, accompanied in this case by a hint of hazelnut and coffee. A wine designed to stand the test of time, it is the ideal companion to great roasts, game or mature cheeses.
