The Tenute Cisa Asinari dei Marchesi di Gresy Dolcetto d'Alba Monte Aribaldo (with 22,000 bottles produced) takes us deep into the soul of the Dolcetto grape. This cooler vintage offers a streamlined and naked expression with little outside intervention. That simplicity, that linear approach, gives value and meaning to a wine like this, especially if you are thinking of an easy pasta pairing. The pure and distinctive clarity of the grape is a real plus.
Monte Aribaldo is the Dolcetto d'Alba DOC proposed by Marchesi di Grésy. A straightforward and pleasant wine, immediate and drinkable. A wine that doesn't require a special occasion to uncork. All it takes is the desire to gratify yourself, to pamper yourself. Vinification in steel tanks at controlled temperature, after fermentation and malolactic conversion, the wine is left to mature rapidly in cement tanks for a period of about five months. The result is a beautiful wine characterized by an intense purple red colour, with violet reflections. The nose reveals an intense and persistent bouquet, dominated by notes of red and black fruit, with strawberry, cherry, currant and blueberry jam. There is also a slight herbaceous note that contributes to making it even fresher. In the mouth it is dry and harmonious, with good structure and a pleasant, slightly bitter almond note on the finish.
Tenute Cisa Asinari of the Marchesi di Grèsy. The name alone is enough to bring a certain awe. Here, in fact, we are looking at the true nobility of Piedmontese wine. A very long history that has its roots at the end of the 18th century when the Martinenga estate was donated to the Grèsy family. From then on, the history of the company tells of marriages, acquisitions and lots and lots of passion for the territory. The current Marchesi di Grèsy winery was officially founded in 1973. It was created to produce wine from the grapes of the Cisa Asinari estate, already a family property. Today the group has four separate estates, although the main one is still Martinenga, in the heart of Barbaresco. The others are those of Monte Aribaldo, in Treiso, La Serra, in Cassine, and Monte Colombo, also adjacent to La Serra. Today the company can count on a total of about 45 hectares of vineyards, distributed in different estates of the Langhe and Monferrato. Energy saving and reduction of environmental impact are two fixed points of the entire production.
