As in the best sparkling wine tradition, Marcalberto also produces a vintage as opposed to what they sympathetically refer to as a "Sansannée". The vintage on the label, in this case 2018, indicates the single year from which the wine in the bottle comes. Produced from a careful selection of the sparkling wine bases made in a particular vintage, the main aim of this wine is to highlight and tell the story of its vintage. The base, as per tradition for the beautiful Piedmontese company, is always Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, noble vines highly suited for the production of quality bubbles, which come from vineyards located in the municipalities of Santo Stefano Belbo, Calosso, Cossano Belbo and Loazzolo. Extra Brut is its dosage, thanks to a little more than 3 grams of sugar per litre, this sparkling wine appears in the glass with a beautiful straw yellow colour with slightly amber hues. The perlage is fine and persistent, and immediately allows one to grasp the more delicate nuances of freshly baked bread that characterise its bouquet. In the mouth, however, it reveals itself to be remarkably structured and endowed with a particular envelopment. An excellent bubble for the whole meal, this classic method "made in Piedmont" is perfect for accompanying both meat and, of course, fish dishes.
