There is only one way to make an already enjoyable wine like a fresh and immediate Valpolicella even better. It is enough to ennoble it with a traditional technique, such as Ripasso, where part of the best Valpolicella is re-fermented on the marcs of Amarone, to increase the alcohol content and make the wine richer in colour, extracts and aromas. The one proposed here by the talented Luciano Arduini is then labeled as Classico and Superiore. Two special mentions that refer to the area of origin, the most historic of the appellation, and to the high quality of the wine, which can also count on a slightly higher alcohol content than the minimum required by the regulations. In the glass it has a beautiful ruby red colour with violet hues. The nose is fresh, floral and characterized by notes of berries. In the mouth it is harmonious and dry. Thanks to its good structure, this Valpolicella Ripasso is perfect for an evening with friends. Excellent when paired with grilled or braised red meat; it also goes well with aged cheeses.
Visiting Luciano Arduini's website, one is struck by a phrase that sums up all the pride of a good producer, in love with his territory and its uniqueness, just perfectly. The wines we produce - we read - come from the grapes of our vineyards. The origin of the company dates back to the forties, when grandfather Gabriele began to produce wines in the locality "Canal" of Marano Valpolicella. Later, in 1969, his son Battista inherited the company, which he was able to grow by combining new land and vineyards. Today the baton has passed to Luciano who continues his work while respecting the tradition and the path traced by his father and grandfather, without losing sight of a long-term vision towards future challenges. And that is why in 2000 the company made an innovative leap, starting to produce wine in a new and modern winery. Challenges do not end and Luciano Arduini, together with his family, is ready to take them on.
