Prodotto e imbottigliato da Alamos Mendoza Argentina
Torrontés is a white grape variety native to Argentina, known for producing aromatic and distinctive wines. Of the different regions in Argentina, Mendoza is probably the most important for Torrontés production. A fine example is this white wine proposed by Alamos, 100% Torrontés di Mendoza, vinified and aged exclusively in steel. A wine characterised by intense, floral aromas, the nose is surprising for the breadth of its bouquet, which includes white flowers, jasmine, rose and orange blossom. To these are added notes of exotic fruit, peach, apricot, lychee and citrus. And it is this combination of aromas that makes the wine so inviting. In the mouth, however, it is characterised by an acidity balanced by the sweetness of the fruit. This acidity lends freshness to the wine, making it extremely versatile. Medium body and silky texture. Although a wine "moderately" suited to ageing, this Torrontés plays everything on freshness, which is why it should be drunk young. Perfect as an aperitif, this Argentinian white is a perfect companion for fish dishes. Excellent with the classic grilled fish or to accompany a large baked fish. Ideal with salmon.
The real speciality of the respected Argentine winery Alamos is Malbec. This interesting variety, of French origin, was imported to Mendoza back in 1852 by the French winemaker Pouget. Here, at the other end of the world (literally), it has found an ideal habitat, resulting in production of the highest quality. In addition to Malbec, however, Alamos also cultivates the other typical variety, Torrontés, in its high-altitude vineyards in the regions of Luján de Cuyo and Valle de Uco. Unique plots are located at altitudes between 3,000 and 5,000 metres above sea level. Here, the climate is decidedly 'mountainous' and the large temperature variations between day and night favour the ripening of healthy grapes rich in natural acidity. The good sun exposure, on the other hand, guarantees a fine concentration of aromas and flavours.
