Write Malvasia delle Lipari and you read Carlo Hauner. Yes, because this name has been practically synonymous with it since 1963. It all began because of Hauner's great passion for oenology and in particular for this extraordinary grape variety native to the Aeolian Islands. An internationally renowned painter and designer, Carlo Hauner started wine production after restoring ancient terracing on the island of Salina. Within a few years, thanks to the unconditional support of many experts, starting with Gino Veronelli, Carlo Hauner's wines found a place in the cellars and on the tables of the most prestigious restaurants, in Italy, France, the United States, Great Britain and Japan. Then, in the 1980s, with the construction of a modern cellar, production expanded and, alongside Malvasia, the prestigious local wines, Salina Bianco and Salina Rosso, were born. Since 1996, his son Carlo Junior, with his grandsons Andrea and Michele, has been running the company.
