Nino Negri

In Valtellina, Nino Negri represents one of the most important, and beautiful, oenological realities. The winery was founded at the end of the 19th century but has been part of the prestigious Gruppo Italiano Vini since 1986. Like so many fine Italian companies, Nino Negri's commitment in recent years has been shifting towards environmental sustainability. A total of thirty hectares are under vine, mostly on steep terraces that rise from the valley floor to the steep walls of the Alps framing the Valtellina. Viticulture here is heroic and laborious. Every operation, every treatment has to be done by hand, without the help of machinery. But the results often repay such hard work. The wines of Valtellina, of which Nino Negri is one of the most shining representatives, are among the best loved by experts all over the world. From the Sforzato to the Valtellina Superiore, they are all wines to be tried without neglecting any of them.
