Domaine d'Elise: a success story in Chablis, a land of lush vineyards and rolling hills. The winery, founded by Frédéric Prain, an eclectic Parisian engineer, is named after his inspirational muse, his wife Elise. We are in the northern part of Burgundy, where the cool climate and limestone-marl soil create an ideal terroir for growing Chardonnay. The grapes from this area give elegant, mineral wines with a characteristic acidity that makes them unmistakable. The Domaine's vineyards are situated on sunny slopes, where they benefit from a perfect microclimate for ripening the grapes. Although the vineyards are not classified as Grands Crus, Frédéric Prain has focused on the careful selection of grapes and maniacal care in the vineyard and cellar to produce wines of the highest level.
