Domaine Barmès-Buecher is located in the heart of Alsace, a few kilometres from Colmar and Eguisheim. Founded in 1985 by Geneviève Barmès (née Buecher) and François Barmès, the Domaine is the result of the union of two families who have been growing vines since the 17th century. The founders decided to follow a path in harmony with nature, orienting themselves towards biodynamic cultivation, a choice that has been officially certified since 2001. The company has about 16–18 hectares of vineyards, distributed in various municipalities in Alsace, including some plots classified as Grand Cru, where the obsessive attention to detail allows for production with moderate yields but exceptional quality. Here, each plot is cared for in a ‘customised’ way: from the manual selection of the grapes to the processing in the cellar, respect for the terroir is the guiding principle that allows the personality of each vineyard to be expressed at its best.
