Antica Fratta has a long history, closely linked to that of the Franciacorta region. Its origins date back to the mid-nineteenth century, when the Knight of the Grand Cross Luigi Rossetti, a wealthy wine merchant in the area, transformed an old farmhouse of the sixteenth century into his residence, renovating the old cellars dug into the rock of the hill on which the villa stands and making them, as well as a showcase of excellence for his business, a personal jewel for storing his selections. After the death of the knight, the property passed from hand to hand, until 1979, when the production of the modern Antica Fratta began.
