The Pio Cesare winery was founded in 1881 when Pio Cesare, Cesare by name and Pio by surname, a successful entrepreneur, was attracted by the idea of producing a small quantity of wines for himself, his family, friends and customers from the hills of Barolo and Barbaresco. Year after year, five generations of the family have followed in ensuring the continuity of the quality and style of the wines. Today, the estate can count on around 70 hectares of vineyards, intentionally located in different communes of the DOCG areas. Plots with particularly fine exposures. The winery, on the other hand, is located in the historic centre of Alba and is built on the Roman walls of the city, which are over two thousand years old.
