Botega Sonsierra was inaugurated on 15 May 1962 and today represents the second largest bottling cooperative in Rioja. An example of coordination and collaboration between 136 winegrowers cultivating 492 hectares of vineyards. Spread over an undulating landscape, they are divided into small plots and terraces that range from an altitude of 420 metres above sea level near the Ebro river to over 700 metres at the foot of the Sierra de Cantabria mountain range. Different altitudes guarantee different microclimates and favour the perfect ripening of the grapes, even in years with extreme weather conditions. In the vineyards only indigenous varieties, in particular Tempranillo and Viura, with vines ranging in age from around 20 years to around 130 years. An authentic treasure.
